These delicate leaf earrings are a striking addition to any Autumn outfit. Made from real leaves these earrings are a treat for anyone who appreciates nature. The leaves are hung on rose gold plated earring studs among baubles of carnelian and fresh water pearls.
The process used to create these earrings is called electroplating. It starts by breaking down the leaves gently to their skeletal form and sealing the organic matter in a protective coat. Then the leaves are coated again but in conductive paint and placed in an acid bath with copper particles where electricity causes the copper particles to adhere to the conductive paint. It's quite an art form!
Carnelian is another favorite stone of mine. It's rich orange color reminds me of the warmth of the sun and it's life giving energy or the safety the glowing embers of a fire provides. Carnelian is known to help open creative energies and bring vitality to the bearer. It is also a very grounding stone that can help bring one to the present. Pearls highlight the natural beauty of the wearer. They also provide the wearer with trust, integrity, purity and faith.
Note: Stone and crystal properties are spiritual supports to healing, not prescription or healthcare information.
Earrings measure about 3 inches.
The metal used for the leaves is copper. The color and shine over time may dull or change color. To avoid color change do not expose to water or wear while working out. Color change however is natural and will happen over time. To restore the metal to its former glory simply clean with a jewelry cleaning cloth which can be purchased from the jewelry department of your local department store.
